Question 1988 924S Gas Lines

I am considering replacing my gas lines because of their age. The rubber front section section that converts from a hard line to rubber and runs over the engine has split. I spliced the line using a metal gas filter that has been drilled out to allow for flow. This is a situation that does not make me feel comfortable to do to a possible fire hazard, so I would like to replace the lines. The Porsche gas line diagrams shows a coupler at the midpoint of the car that allows for replacement of 1/2 of the line. I can't find this coupler, the lines look all one piece to me. Has anyone had a similar experience?
