I am considering replacing my gas lines because of their age. The rubber front section section that converts from a hard line to rubber and runs over the engine has split. I spliced the line using a metal gas filter that has been drilled out to allow for flow. This is a situation that does not make me feel comfortable to do to a possible fire hazard, so I would like to replace the lines. The Porsche gas line diagrams shows a coupler at the midpoint of the car that allows for replacement of 1/2 of the line. I can't find this coupler, the lines look all one piece to me. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Same intention with my '88 944...
I have talked to a sales tech here at Pelican and we are working up a big comprehensive fuel line parts order. From tank to injectors.. not cheap but neither is fire. |

Lindsey Racing has a fuel line kit on sale now, it is quite simple to install, and much cheaper than replacing with the factory lines.

Are you having a problem with the hard lines or just the rubber portion? Interesting about not finding the connector, on my 88 951 it is located just about midway between the front edge of the passenger door and the rear of the wheel arch. It's a piece of blue fabric covered fuel line (similar to the line used from the fluid reservoir to the clutch master), not a threaded fitting.

Gas Lines
My problem is with the the rubber lines that pass over the engine, The lines start out as hard lines and then are crimped onto a rubber line for flexibility when entering the engine compartment. It would be cheaper to replace this section rather than the entire set of lines, but the coupler is not there!

heck out the Lindsey kit, it replaces the rubber lines with steel braided lines...you cut into the metal line down in the wheel well away from any heat source. It uses compression fittings to secure the steel braided lines to the factory steel line.
Simple instructions here: LR FUEL LINE INSTALL at LINDSEY RACING - Your Porsche Performance Parts Center According to my 3 year old dealer price list, the line to the FPR is 73.99 and the line to the damper is 78.95, and that's just for the sections from the junction shown in the PET. Remember, you should not buy used hoses, or you will end up in the same boat your in now...99.9% of the lines out there are over 20 years old. The easiest way would be to either buy the Lindsey kit, locate a similar kit, or make your own lines, and splice into the existing steel fuel line INSIDE the wheel well, like shown in the Lindsey instructions.
