Theres been alot of posting re IMS bearing lately, so I've been thinking about it more and more. I have a 2000 S Boxter 40,000 miles... car is running excellent. The oil was changed about 600 miles ago by the dealer. In the service records there is no indication that the mechanic examined the oil filter for shavings or anything out of the ordinary. I'm wondering if I should do this to have some confidence and peace of mind that it is a non-issue. I don't have a durametric yet so I can't test the cam shaft for deviation /alignment per Wayne's book. I would appreciate your wisdom.
