The oil was changed about 600 miles ago by the dealer. In the service records there is no indication that the mechanic examined the oil filter for shavings or anything out of the ordinary. I'm wondering if I should do this to have some confidence and peace of mind that it is a non-issue. I don't have a durametric yet so I can't test the cam shaft for deviation /alignment per Wayne's book. I would appreciate your wisdom.

Thanks

You probably should do it since you are concerned (rightfully so) you don't have to change your oil just pull your filter out and examine it and if it is ok then put it back in. no harm no faul
