It looks like he took most corners a little early and some very early including the up hill (I think he even make noises to the effect that he messed up several corners). Notice that he was trying to gain on the targa when he wipped out.

The one time I drove there, I was most intimidated by that corner and the next just over the crest, now I see that I was the wiser for being so.
