Don't know if this has made it's way round these parts, but if not enjoy this high quality in-car vid:
http://www.merkurclub.com/events/LRP%20photos/LRP-subaru.zip Word is this is (was) a 165 hp Legacy. Until the climax, I'd have to say the Targa driver was *really* taking it easy to let a *Legacy* catch him Kurt |

It was a Legacy GT 2.5l. Racing at Lime Rock, as the video states: end of No-name straight there's a sharp right hander followed by a short up hill that crests about 100 ft. up from the turn. If you're not perfectly straight at that point, you're gonna slide/spin/crash...etc.
A guy on this board, Drew, is friends with the driver of the Legacy. BTW: since then, he's gotten another Legacy and has been race prepping it. Gotta love the 'get back on the horse' attitude: just stay clear from my p-car! -Z. |

Too busy trying to narrate his own movie. I would say from the looks of it, the guy didn't know how to drive his car, or at least needed more instruction. Wonder if insurance covered it

I saw the video. Instead of "race preping" his car, he should be "driving instructing" his mind. A good video on what not to do.

I kinda liked the end when he grabbed the roof and had only one word to say.

It looks like he took most corners a little early and some very early including the up hill (I think he even make noises to the effect that he messed up several corners). Notice that he was trying to gain on the targa when he wipped out.
The one time I drove there, I was most intimidated by that corner and the next just over the crest, now I see that I was the wiser for being so. Dave |
