You didn't give us time to guess. I knew what it was - I spent $$$ before on one of those. I'd say this one was fairly mild, but you have to treat them at least with fluids, you never know when the dog goes into shock from blood loss .
You should go to a snake avoidance clinic to keep the pooch out of the snakes. They usually are in spring. PM me and I can get you in touch with a guy who organizes one every year in May. She may be wise now, but never hurts to retrain - cheap insurance, especially if you run them off leash or back up to snake hill ...
