You may know this but some others may not. You just need an early 914 bumper. The six and early 4 use the same one. The six will always be chrome and the 4 may or may not be (most were). I know "early" includes '70-'71, not sure about '72. The early bumper has squared off corners around the plate indent, late is rounded.
