I havent tensioned a 944 belt before but have been reading up about the 90 Degree method.
Yes i have had a heaps of experience bending valves on and old alfa sud i had once.
First one was leaving a rag on the radiator which dropped down and broke the two timing belts, bent valves
Second put the head gasket on upside down blocking a oil passage gallery to the cam, coursing the cam to stop rotating and breaking another belt and bending more valves.
Thirdly, reused a timing belt, but put it on in the opposite way it came off, causing it to strip the teeth off the belt and bending more valves.
That was all on the same car, a porsche should be a piece of cake.
