My suggestion would be to take it back to who ever installed the unit for you, it is possible that something may have grounded out, I'd hate to think the worse case but if it is gounding into the factory wiring harness it can be quite pricey to replace if necessary...

My suggestion is to disconnect the battery and get it check asap.
