Changed my radio & now my 1999 911 won't start
I had a navigation unit installed in my 1999 911 about a week ago. Two nights ago I bought an iPod to hook up to it, when I went for the wire (that connects to the iPod) I pulled on it a little harder then I should have. When I went to turn the navi back on it wouldn't turn on, after getting a bit upset, I went to turn the car on, but that wouldn't turn on either
The lights come on, dash lights, everything functions as normal - but the engine will not turn, or make any sound for that matter... Is their an additional fuse box that I can check, or a wire that might have been unplugged that may be causing this? Side note, I left the battery unplugged over night last night, hoping I can just reset something to no avail... |

My suggestion would be to take it back to who ever installed the unit for you, it is possible that something may have grounded out, I'd hate to think the worse case but if it is gounding into the factory wiring harness it can be quite pricey to replace if necessary...
My suggestion is to disconnect the battery and get it check asap. |

Sounds like your immoblizer has been activated.
There is a wire connected to the stock radio (chassis?) that needs to be isolated from ground when the radio is removed. Did you try locking then unlocking the car with the remote to see if it will reset? If it beeps once when it locks it might be looking for the radio.

Just been reading another thread re clutch switches. The clutch has to be depressed for the starter to come in. Could it be a faulty switch at the clutch pedal. Just a thought. If so they are only $20 from Pelican parts and can be swapped out in 15 minutes.
