When I replaced mine with new stays, they make a noise at two spots. The first click is when the door is mid-way open and the second one is when it is all they way open.
I believe the noise is a result of the nub on the stay that is holding the door in the partially, or all the way open position.
It seems that your mid point stay may be worn and you are just hearing the all the way open cling.
