8 hours is a solid estimate. You are correct it is much faster after your second or third (or 12th...) time. I was able to switch engines between two 944 racecars in a weekend, starting about 3PM on the first day til dark, and maybe 10am and done before dark the second day with a 944-savvy helper. Probably 15 hours total.
