Thought that you might be interested in my take on installing a long hood on a post-73 chassis. I have a barn find unused 40 year old hood (original primer still on) that I am fitting on my RS replica based on a '78. I did not want to disturb the integrity of the chassis by replacing the chassis nose to the early style so I cut out the latch portion of the short hood on my wrecked '86 and grafted onto the long hood. Fits like a glove. I still have to make an extension lever for the emergency latch which I'll copy from the fiberglass boys.
