I had same problem... drove me nuts... screwed with fan mounting... got most of rubbing fixed... sandpaper on the blades (where rubbing) fixed rest...
Not permanent... fan now not perfectly balanced... will eventually fail...
But a good jerry-rig... till find thexthiest replacement...
