Well, according to the letter I got today my driver's license is suspended as of April 6th.
Seems Texas says I failed to make my court date or pay the fine for that speeding ticket I got back in November!!!
This is some serious BS, I want to know where to complain so it matters.
First I get a ticket for the maximum fine for speeding and I wasn't speeding. All I did was pass a pickup that was doing 50mph in a 70, and in a passing zone! There was no radar involved, the assumed the pickup was speeding and I must have been going fast enough for the maximum fine if I passed it.
The officer and the information on the ticket says I can make my court appearance to appeal the ticket by phone.
I call to make my appearance. Of course they don't care what my story is I am guilty. But they offer me a differed sentence for half the fine and say they will mail me the paperwork that I should return with a check.
I don't receive any paperwork. Instead I get a letter saying I have failed to appear or pay the fine and I must pay the fine plus a late fee within 15 days of receiving the letter.
I call the next day. They have NO RECORD of me making my phone appearance or the deferred sentence!!! The only option I have is to pay the fine plus another fine for failure to appear.
The fines show on my bank statement. I am pissed because I feel like I got screwed by the Texas courts.
Now I get a letter from Oklahoma saying my license is suspended because I failed to appear or pay the fine in Texas with a copy of the letter telling me I had 15 days to pay!!!!! What?
