Little update, I finally got the car into my mechanic (a dedicated P-car guy) and he is not convinced that it is the pinion bearing. He did notice that the rear tires were 2 sizes too big Ugly situation, they were on the car when I bought it from the dealer and he stated that that may have caused some tranny damage.

We are swapping out the tires and I am keeping my fingers crossed that maybe that is all that was needed?
