So I'm nearly blind from absorbing web info on 915 tranny noises and bearings and forks and knives and spoons and the kitchen sink! My consistent and repeatable noise "conditions" apparently do not match anyone's anywhere and make no sense. Having a 915 with a relatively new WEVO Street Light clutch package I have a grating, mid range constant noise which occurs in the following scenarios: sitting idle, in neutral, depress the clutch pedal and the noise loudly appears. It's consistent in tone (rapid rattling/grating mechanical metallic mid range tone) and does not change with throttle/rpm changes. Noise goes away when clutch pedal is released. Now add that the noise also appears when in motion both coasting with the clutch pedal depressed (goes away when released) and it also appears when in motion, in gear (any gear, any RPM, same drone & tone) and you are under load accelerating. Lift throttle and it disappears. ANY TAKERS (please?)?
