Timchar -- What did the top end rebuild run on the 1986 car you bought ?
I'm being told that when needed this will run approx $5k.
The car I am looking at has had every maintenance item done, as and when the independant p shop that services it has suggested work be done (same shop for the last 14 years) -- so suspension, clutch etc etc are all good -- the worry is that the transmission and engine have not needed any major work to date with 172000 miles on the car.
