you do NOT HAVE A FOOKING CLUE what a wildfire means, until you have faced one down(or 2). they suck royal donkey dongs in spades.
my opinions about wildland firefighters aka boots on the ground, is very high.
my opinions about the center for biological diversity/tree huggers/setting aside pristine country for "wilderness" and then halt logging, and then ALLOW bill-yons of board feet of lumber to go up in freeking smoke despite economy stumbling along and lumber mills sitting idle freeking really pisses me off to NO END!
welcome to the "new" forest service mgmt of YOUR RESOURCES!
yep lets let the "wilderness" burn to hell and then cross into national forest and then threaten communities/lives.
if you have never visited a INCIDENT COMMAND or a helo base or a fixed wing slurry bomber base.................realize its DEAD SER-I-ASS BIZZNESS!
oh by the way................after the fire.............ya get to deal with BIG AZZD FLOODS for an encore.
30ft minimum defensive fire swath cut around any all homes.................MINIMUM!
and even then when they get roaring like whitewater/baldy complex fire, you get to deal with "SPOTTING" 2-3 miles forward of actual fire line.
wanna JOB??????????????????????
stimulate economy?
join a wildland fire team! they cant get enuff people now.
POS "experimental" slurry bombers i wouldnt even dream of getting into. ancient isnt the word. already (2) have crashed and one with twin fatalities.
go to youtube and look up "whitewater/baldy complex fire. punch in bae 146 jet slurry drop.
DC-10 slurry bomber just arrived at gateway airport in mesa az. bad azzz isnt the word. 100yard wide and (1) mile LONG swath of slurry can be dropped .
C-130's coming from wyoming for ft collins fire in colorado.

on our trip over to new messiko we drove thru 7 active or inactive FIRES!
