As I recall, the rear suspension and trailing arms are removed. The inner fenders wells are cleaned and preped for welding. The Kit gets welded on to that. I dont think you need to remove the axles. But you might consider doing it anyway and have them checked for straightness and replace the gaskets. The boxed arm kit is also pretty cool for your rear trailing arms. Which you could do when you take off the trailing arms.
