White smoke out of tail pipe, misfiring, and water in oil, all the tell tale signs of a blown head gasket, once I removed the head I found coolant in cylinders, and pitting on the cylinder head surface.
My guess is the PO overheated the engine because the head gasket was very new and the head surface had scuff marks from someone cleaning the head surface with a buzz-wheel, which tells me they did not have it machined, also the head nuts were way over-torqued
The machine shop I brought it to had to remove somewhere between .006-.010 off the head surface to get it flat.
