first hint - they advertise their intakes to work on both the boxster and the boxster s. realise that the boxster and boxster s have different diameter maf housings. the diameter of the maf housing is used by the ecu in conjunction with the maf reading to calculate airflow (maf reading x area of maf housing = airflow). so, a kit that works for the boxster shouldn't work (properly) for the s and visa versa.

second hint - cold air intakes are designed to intake ... cold air. the boxster intake already does this; it is sealed and only draws air from the outside. now look at the aftermarket intakes - not sealed - hot air from the engine compartment gets drawn in. engine performance decreases with increase in intake air temperature.
