Which one? Agency Power or Fabspeed Intake?

Hello everyone.
I have a tough choice between two performance intakes:

Agency Power Intake $330
Fabspeed Intake $375

The Agency Power is much cheaper and the dyno shows that less power is made than claimed.
Agency are claiming 5-8HP increases with 9.4 crank HP when dyno showed 2HP increase.
Fabspeed claims 5-7HP, and the dyno backs it up showing about 6.5HP increase.

Torque increase was about the same for both intakes. 5-6 ft-lbs.
And both include heat shield for intake a.k.a. cooling box.

Does anyone know which one is really the better choice? I just want to make sure I am making the right choice with Fabspeed.

All the data we have seen say that these things are pretty much a waste of money. Your stock intake, while not pretty, does a very good job.

All the data I have seen, the dyno charts, show otherwise.

Cold air intake, coupled with high flow exhaust components and performance ECU flash, you will get substantial HP gain.

Several months ago another vendor was offering a complete package.

Hint - they're in Atlanta.

Next steps would plenium upgrade, IMS upgrade, light weight fly wheel, performance clutch, etc. etc...

We have looked at dyno data, before and after on multiple cars run by independent and credible facilities, not the marketing stuff the purveyors of these systems post on the internet. The gains, if any, were in the range of reproducibility error, and then only at extreme RPM.... The factory intake system is pretty good, the aftermarket intakes added little if anything, other than to make your wallet easier to sit on...............

I have to back up JFP - if you change the intake and exhaust and DME, you might see a difference. Doing just one will result in a lighter wallet and no discernible difference.

Even if it does have 7 more HP, do you think that would be noticeable?

Don't believe any of the hp gain claims for any of the cold air intake systems it is not what you buy them for, you buy them for torque. I looked at all the claims for months and all the systems and went with the Evolution Motor Sports CAI, it is the only one sold by Porsche and for good reason. Much better build quality than the rest and much better seal between air intake and hot engine air. It also has a MAF slot just like the stock system and you will not experience any MAF issues as long as you don't over oil it when you clean it. The max hp and torque will kick in about 900 rpm sooner than stock and the howl from it is boner fide. I've heard that if the EVOM and Pedro's techno torque are installed together you can expect the max hp and torque to kick in around 1,200 rpm sooner. This makes a huge difference in AX if you also do that. You will gain about as much hp from desnorking as a CAI so buy it for the other reasons.

I don't expect to feel the HP increase at all.

Even if it makes a 0.01 second difference in acceleration, it is worth it because everyone says it makes the engine sound a lot better and louder. That is important for me because the Boxster cooling fan is too loud and the car does not sound sporty or loud at all when I am watching someone drive my Boxster from the outside.

I put the Fabspeed intake on my Cayman S not sure what the others have know, but right out the garage the car was much quicker, more responsive, and sure sounds
great. So I think you have to find out for your self.I don't believe any of the claims by manufactures about how much more power you get.But at fabspeed you can see the difference on their cars. They are the best after much research ,these guys are not trying to blow smoke up your exhaust pipe.
The intake with the new exhaust makes a world of difference.OK maybe I am just
thinking it runs better! Not. it does big time. You will just have to see for your self. And why do the race people use these very similar intakes.fabspeed in the development used numbers they got from their race cars.maybe you wont hit the 200 mph mark. But you will notice a difference as soon as you start your engine.

first hint - they advertise their intakes to work on both the boxster and the boxster s. realise that the boxster and boxster s have different diameter maf housings. the diameter of the maf housing is used by the ecu in conjunction with the maf reading to calculate airflow (maf reading x area of maf housing = airflow). so, a kit that works for the boxster shouldn't work (properly) for the s and visa versa.

second hint - cold air intakes are designed to intake ... cold air. the boxster intake already does this; it is sealed and only draws air from the outside. now look at the aftermarket intakes - not sealed - hot air from the engine compartment gets drawn in. engine performance decreases with increase in intake air temperature.
