culture shock is if you go to pick up your rental car, and the counter lady is butchering a pig while topless..and has a chicken head burning on the fire as an offering to her ancestors. and she offers you a fried goat eyeball as a snack. .that's culture shock; not cheap pricing on smoked salmon, and someone saying hello.
