I got to use a pair of new toys, jack pads from our host:

Definitely get a pair of these (and a pair of floor jacks) if jacking the rear up with the engine case freaks you out. It probably should...
They are a safer way to use the factory intended roadside jack receptacles without using the deathtrap factory roadside jack.
And they avoid crushing visible and invisible infrastructure...
So far I'm about 50:50 for tackling issues myself but this one may end up at the shop...
