After searching for a few months at all the normal locations, I came across this car on Craigslist in Texas (I'm in Denver). About 200k miles, full rebuild at 150k, Boxter front brakes, H4 headlights, 7" and 8" polished Fuchs, and Sparco seats. It's had the same owner since 30k miles, and it's been maintained at the same independent shop for the past 10 years. The interior is in fantastic shape - and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. There is an extra AC condenser in it, and it blows so cold that I had to leave it on the first setting. I thought getting a functional AC setup would cost thousands, but it seemed like he just updated the hoses, and added that condenser.
The only issues with it are the pistons that hold up the front and back lid are blown, and the windshield washer system doesn't work. Both seam like easy fixes, though.
One issue I didn't really anticipate, though, was the seat height. I'm 5'8, and I feel like I'm just barely looking over the wiper blades. I thought the seats were pretty ugly (white and blue), but they're so damn comfy and lightweight that I think it would be hard to go back to the normal seats. Are there any lightweight seats with height and back adjustments that are geared more towards street use? I love the bolstering, but I need to be up higher. I have 800 miles to drive tomorrow, and I think I might sit on my jacket.
Looking forward to contributing here!
