Button shows he is not a setup guy, haha.. And I found it interesting that Perez and Button, who are both really good on tires, can't seem to understand the new Pirelli tires yet.
I have been under the impression that most of the setup work is now done by the team back in the factory on the 7-post rig and simulator. The team at the track just need to provide some baseline data on track abrasion, tire wear, brake wear, fuel consumption etc. Not surprising that Ron Dennis was a strong supporter of reducing on-track testing. Ferrari had invested heavily in their own test track whereas McLaren had spent their money on building the best simulation gear. That decision is really paying dividends now for McLaren. McLaren will get it worked out.
