1) Lack of ash tray in new cars. (I am sure you coud buy an insert to the coin / tray location if you bothered, but most people don't want to admit that they are heavy smokers.)

2) Keep the car clean (resale)

3) Don't look at your trash, reminding yourself how many cigs you really put down. This one may be the biggest reason.

I bought a smoker's car (2 years old) before. The ashtray was virgin. It sure stunk bad for a few months, but I knocked $500 off the price for it, so I was okay tolerating the smell.
