When I bought my 86 944 na in October of 2010, there were receipts from a repair shop indicating that both the master and slave brake cylinders had been replaced with new parts. I took my car in today for a state inspection and the mechanic showed me on the lift where the master cylinder appears to be leaking. Other than a failed master cylinder itself, what else could cause the leak?
Also, has anyone tried replacing their master with the steel version from 944online? Slightly over $100 compared to the aluminum version and allegedly fits both girling and ATE systems.
