A small 1/4" swivel 10mm socket makes the job easier.
Replace the serpentine belt if it's cracking. The tensioner is a 24mm nut. Yes, replace the thermostat at the same time. No you don't need the aftermarket one.
Vacuum bleeder is essential to do this right. You WILL have air in the system if you dont use it.
