Hi Uvachief - I would recommend that you remove some of that excess fluid and make sure you do not fill past the MAX indicator. This will help prevent any leakage that might occur due to temperature expansion in the hot months, etc. It is always best to remain inside the manufacturers recommended filling specs. Also, bear in mind that the level will drop (albeit slowly) as your brake components wear, as more fluid is needed to take up the space as the caliper pistons move out. However, if the level drops quickly, then you do have a leak.

The 'moisture' in the footwell I wouldnt really worry about, as if its not wet it is probably some residue from an old leak that has attacked the rubber.
