Well, I think 1st gear is pretty much gone. If you try to take off quick, it slips and makes noise. Fortunately, I know a guy that works at AAMCO and does side work at home. He said as long as the parts haven't gone up, it'd be about $650 for a rebuild on the trans. Of course, I'm gonna take it out for him. Hope all goes well...I will know before long.
