The click is most likely from your starter selenoid.
1. Check your battery charge level. If your engines been out for a while, could be drained.
2. Did you hook up both heavy wires to your starter post?
3. How was the starter before?
4. Are you sure the engine mated properly with the trans?
5. Check your wiring.
6. Any anti-theft devices that you forgot?
