somehow, back in the 1970s, somebody at VDO must have scammed Porsche pretty good and convinced them to purchase a half million crappy odometers.
yeah, the 924 and 944 odometers are all consumables like spark plugs, gas, oil, and air for the tires.
VDO made some of the biggest piece of crap odometer gears that are so flawed that they are a regular joke with just about 99% of the German car mechanics out there. just about all of them know that there are like 4 924 and 944s out there with working odometers.. and they're on display at the factory

i have had 3 in my 924, and 3 in my 944. please don't make the mistake and purchase a new one. big waste of money.
they ARE repairable, but that is no guarantee that they won't break again.
does anyone know if it's possible to put a Motometer odometer in a 924/944?
