There isn't a politician alive with the balls to reverse the trend. Well, perhaps there is, but we are stuck with the current momentum as the pendulum swings to the "left" on this crap.
Likely will take another decade before we see more realistic speed limits.
Having just driven across the US this summer, they do have more realisticv speed limits. Even the damn 18 wheelers are travelling at 70 to 75 mph. The rest of the traffic flow is in the 75 to 85 range.
Have to agree with Gunter (did I say that??)...we need to head south.
