"Not going in the Poo porsche"
Just reading the thread on the re done white 75 Carrera, there seemed to be a lot of back and forth about the color change from brown to white. And it seems the PO painted it after some disparaging comments.. My daughter always called my survivor SC the 'Poo Porsche' and she prefers riding in moms car, I remember a colleague having his Cockney brown 77 painted red back in 93, because he couldn't stand the jibes about the flying turd.
What really got me wondering was after I was down at the local dealership and saw both a 991 and a Cayanne in what looks like either Tobacco or Copper brown, and both my wife and now older daughter raved about the color and said they thought it was the nicest color on a vehicle in there. My wife actually made an appointment to go back on Tuesday for a test drive, on the (CPO) Cayanne, unfortunately I can't afford the 991, and besides if I could Id never let the bloody dog in it.
Do people actually like the browns again ? It used to be a good negotiating tool to get a cheaper car when black red and silver were the acceptable colors ? I thought brown was relegated to cheap old farts like me who still remember wearing brown polyester flares.
