Thanks Fred. I assume this wouldn't be the reason why my car wouldn't start though. When i connect it the car to a standalone battery , car will crank and the starter will gradually crank less frequently and finally it won't crank at all.
Will try to trickle charge and see if this makes a difference...
I did notice that one of the interior lights was stuck in the on position and the bulb had fallen out.
Sorry I have no idea about car electrics
