Oil Leaks and smoke
First time posting for me. I can't thank Wayne and all the people on this forum for help I have received looking here for answers. I have been restoring a 74 911 for 7 years now. I bought a used 78 3.0 with 100,00 miles on it 5 years ago. I have been rolling the crank ever since to keep things from rusting. I put the engine in after replacing every seal I could. I think I may have screwed up by adding 14 quarts of oil? I read the capacity in the manual? I started it up yesterday for the first time and smoke galore! also leaking oil from the exhaust manifolds where the meet the muffler and oil leaking from the crank seal area? I am hoping I just overfilled the oil? On start up I had the oil press gage pegged at 140 lbs.! After a couple of runs the press dropped to 60 lbs. but the leaks continue, engine at 140 degrees. What do you think?
