If the deposit was paid by credit card, I'd pull it. I read the thread, but maybe not good enough to see if it was paid by CC.
At any rate. I would not buy a car for $5k from this guy. He will give NOTHING away. If anyone will NOT have a good deal, it is him. Total scammer that lies to your face without blinking an eye and puts his "expertise" over your lowly hobby knowlege immediately to put you at "ease".
I almost got burnt on a set of genuine Fuchs from this guy. When I asked if they were genuine on the phone, I got the "Blabla 40 years Porsche ... don't insult me ... blabla, know what genuine Fuchs are blabla." Lucky for me, I went and picked them up in person ... they were fakes ... so it only cost me a drive to the City. Unbelievable.
It is worrisome that this clown is back. He has always dealt in early cars. The recent frenzy probably gets him some new victims from Europe and others.
