This a continuation of my thread that originally started as a motor rebuild thread which then turned into a Lightweight IROC build based of a 70' T. Here is the original

Here is my latest update...
A post is long overdue on the project. The past few months have gone by so fast with the project. We finally locked in an engine (85' 3.2L w/ 32k miles), got a 915 transmission, revamped the entire suspension system, painted the interior, cleaned up more rust, rebuilt all brake calipers, bumped up to 17" wheels, and powder coated all sorts of parts. Within the next few weeks it's heading off to TLG to have the engine and trans married to the chassis. There came a point I was becoming skeptical as to the progress we were making. When you see visit after visit of no suspension arms hanging off the chassis and work seems to be moving slower than molasses in the dead of winter it wears on you. This weekend was a breath of fresh air for the build. Being able to finally hang up the freshly powder coated rear arms with fresh mono balls and Rebel rear bushings felt unbelievable.
What really stood out for me this weekend was being able to work on the very car that my father raced at POC and PCA events in San Diego who drive the wheels off this car as I stood spectator in the back of the pickup. I was about 5-6 years old at this time. This entire experience has not only brought me closer to the car I lusted over as a child but even closer with my father. For those that have helped me along the what with this project (Marco from TLG has been a massive support)I'd just like to say Thank You. Throughout the build I've made some good decisions, some bad decisions, learned a lot about building a car, and gained some great friends in the process. With that said, there's more progress to some.
