I do believe that CC companies have "changed" in recent years. Used to be, they simply "ate" the fraudulent charges as part of their cost of doing business (insignificant to their bottom line, and customers used their cards "worry free" generating HUGE profits). Niece had her VISA (either lost or stolen) used for numerous charges for a few days when she was a student in Poland probably 15 years ago. No problem, no "out of pocket" for my niece. Several years ago, I received a notice that my Visa (that I had through my CU for 13 years) would no longer offer such protection for Internet purchases or charges outside of a 150 mile (I think it was) radius of my home. I put the letter down and called to cancel. CU didn't have a dang thing to do with this...I cant remember the service provider (FISA or something?). Some idiot called me later wanting to know why I had cancelled and insisted I had "misinterpreted" what I read (I may talk SLOOOOW, but I can read

). I no longer have a CC and just use debit. I'd never paid a cent in CC interest anyways and the ONLY reason I had it was for the "protection" factor on big ticket purchases. Good luck Patrick...maybe try to "take it up the ladder" if you use this card much (they might not want to lose a "good" customer). Have I ever mentioned to y'all that banks and CC companies absolutely suck from my perspective and CUs have been behaving more like banks for the last 15 years or so.
ps: My debit is still a Visa...they've spotted "abnormal" activity and shut it down before...kudos to them for that!
