Not a good idea to let it come that close. If you scare it while it is on the bottom of the tree, it will run. If you scare it in striking distance, it may go nuts on you. It will eff you up big time. They look slow and uncoordinated, but they can be up and down the tree as fast as a squirrel and will fight as fast as a cat. (See cat thread). Really really stupid hunter IMHO ...
