Question do torsion bars slide

In recent car work, I re-assembled my front suspension and found a concern/question.

One of my a-arms has the end cap (front of tube) removed. You can see through the torsion bar tube of the a-arm.

During reassembly, I accidentally pushed my torsion bar partway out the front.

Next, I tried putting the rear cap/adjuster on first, then pushing it into place.

My question is, what keeps the bar from working its way forward, out of the rear side end cap?

I realize that most of the time, the suspension has load on it. But, in racing, and say after a curb hop, I expect the suspension to become unloaded.

Maybe the sway bars prevents the torsion bar from fully unloading. Perhaps in a jump situation where both front tires were unloaded would do it?

I've raced for several years with at least one a-arm missing its end cap without trouble, but thoughts I'd ask.
