In the process of having my waterpump changed the mechanic noticed the bearings in the alternator are not that healthy either.

Is it possible to buy new bearings for the alternator or is a new or refurbed alternator the way to go?

Also I've been looking at refurbed alternators and can see there are two different ratings 90 and 115 amps.

My car is an 84, can I go for either option?
