Here's my take - they have an argument, she goes to the bathroom to use the toilet, he fires a shot through the door to make his point, thinking she is sitting on the crapper. Instead she is standing up behind the door and the bullet hits her in the hip. She is now screaming and he freaks out not knowing what to do but needs her to quit the noise and fires three more shots and the noise stops. Very sad.
