Got it! I switched from using a 3/8" drive ratchet to 1/4" and that gave me just enough wiggle room to mount it. Thanks for the help.
But the battery still doesn't want to come out! There's no obvious hold down. I do see a torx screw that might be holding it down. Does that sound familiar to anyone?
