We're here:

After two days on the road, we are in Zuffenhausen. The old Turbo has had the opportunity to stretch her legs a little, and drive as she was made to be driven. We haven't gone all crazy on the autobahn, but we were doing 130 mph for a short while. Mostly we cruise around 90 or 100, and the 35 year old car feel right at home at that speed. The "new" engine has been smooth running, and use no more oil than expected. Its a grat feeling to load 1 bar of boost in fourth gear at 90 mph. But still, at 100 mph there are Audis and Beemers passing us. We've had much rain for periods of the trip, and without any ABS, stability control or any other electronic helping devices, I don't want to risk anything. I take it easy on the wet.

Werk I were Ferdinan Porsche originally had his design office befor the war. After returning from Gmund after the war, this was alsoss ocr the lovation of the design teams etc, and at Werk II across the streat they had the factory when they started producing cars.

Werk II: The new assembly building. Down an to the right, you can barely see the brick buildings were Porsche had their old factory. Today, the buildings are undre special restrictions, so they cant be torn down or modified. This is were Porsche lined up 25 Porsche 917's in the sixties to present them to FIA. Ferrari was cheating, and while they transported the FIA representatives from location to location, they moved the cars as well so FIA was inspecting the same cars over on over. Porsche was forced to display all of them at once before they could go racing with the 917
