I'm thinking of adding a 2 post lift in my shop/garage. The one problem that I am struggling with is the 16' width of the garage overhead door. I don't want to put the lift in a position that will prevent putting 2 cars in the building, but most lifts require 132 - 144" of width. One of the only lifts that I have found that requires less space is the Dannmar MaxJax which uses 110-125" of width. It also is designed for installation by the buyer with small posts with castors. The only draw backs that I see are the 6,000 lb max load and the 52" max lift height. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!
