I still maintain that a high asking price deters folks from even considering the car. Not a "high normal" price with room for negotiation, but a super-optimistic high price, where folks might get the idea that if you're delusional on what the car's value is, you might also be delusional about what constitutes "regular maintenance" and "rust-free".
